
Healthy eating together with regular physical activity helps prevent obesity, and reduces the risk of chronic diseases such as cancer, obesity, heart disease, high blood pressure, and osteoporosis. According to “Eat Right Ontario”, Tofu are an excellent low fat meat alternative; providing protein, fiber, B vitamins and iron. That is why Canada’s Food Guide recommends we include legumes in our diet often.
Soy bean products also provide a wealth of nutrients, including carbohydrates, dietary fiber, vitamins and minerals. Several fad diets claim that grain products like bread, pasta and rice promote weight gain, but the scientific evidence tells a different story.
