Healthy eating together with regular physical activity helps prevent obesity, and reduces the risk of chronic diseases such as cancer, obesity, heart disease, high blood pressure, and osteoporosis. A healthy diet includes eating a variety of foods from Eating Well with Canada’s Food Guide’s four basic food groups.


According to “Eat Right Ontario”, Tofu are an excellent low fat meat alternative; providing protein, fiber, B vitamins and iron. That is why Canada’s Food Guide recommends we include legumes in our diet often.

Soy bean products also provide a wealth of nutrients, including carbohydrates, dietary fiber, vitamins and minerals. Several fad diets claim that grain products like bread, pasta and rice promote weight gain, but the scientific evidence tells a different story.
