3 tbls of soy sauce
1 clove garlic (minced)
1 teaspoon of corn syrup (can be substituted with honey or sugar)
Optional: finely chopped green onions and black sesame seeds for garnish
Directions
Slice tofu into about 1.5 inch thick rectangles, use paper towels to absorb any extra liquid.
In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, minced garlic and corn syrup and whisk, set aside.
Heat a pan with 1 to 2 teaspoons of vegetable oil. Add the tofu and lower the heat (medium-low heat). Cook for about 5~7 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
Add the mixture of minced garlic, soy sauce and corn syrup to the pan. Stir tofu with sauce to caramelize the tofu.
Turn the heat off and transfer the tofu to a plate.
Garnish with sesame seeds, and chopped green onions to taste before serving.
